A Life of Loneliness

The hermit sits alone,

Basking in solitude,

Preferring the company of his own

Mind and dwelling in his solemn mood.

How does one tell him?

That the company of others is Oh! so sweet,

While he sits alone on a whim

Feeling utterly incomplete.

Being alone isn't in our destiny.

Humans are made to be together.

For our souls crave company.

To rest in peace with each other.

Surely the hermit has understood this,

For he has set out to seek,

Something that was amiss.

In a life that was dreary and bleak.

His search has come to an end.

But his life has just begun,

He has finally found a person to spend his life with,

to see the rising sun.
